Author Showcases Musical Skills

Updated: Mar 23

Author Harris L. Kligman took a break from writing to showcase his skills on the piano. We sat with the author to video and record his performance.

According to Harris L. Kligman, "I composed both the lyrics and music to these four songs entitled "Tomorrow," "One More Chance," "Nancy Ann" and "On The Wrong Side Of The Bridge."

"The idea for a song, any song, comes from many different places. Seeing a pretty woman, a tragic love affair and so on. A few years back the famous American Rap Artist Rakim was living in a house next to my son Rob's home in Stamford, Connecticut. One Sunday, Rob, my wife Nancy and I went to visit Rakim. During our conversation, Rakim mentioned that he was building a home in New Jersey. I replied in jest, that it was on "The wrong side of the bridge."

When I returned home I mentioned to my wife that I thought that was a great title for a song and an hour later the song "On The Wrong Side Of The Bridge," was composed. As typical for me, I wrote the lyrics to "capture" a spurned lover who reminisces about his love gone astray."

We asked the author for one final thought to sum up his feelings towards music,"I like songs that capture lost love. I find the music and words are more memorable...at least for me!"

The song, "One More Chance" can be heard as the background music for Author Harris L. Kligman's children's book video, "The Day the Night Did Not Come."

In addition to "One More Chance", "NancyAnn" can also be heard as the background music for Author Harris L. Kligman's latest children's book video, "The Wordman."

Audiobook tittles are also available for purchase through Audible, iTunes and Amazon. Audible stores distributes each title in the US, UK, Canada, Germany, France, Australia, and Japan.
